PA

“Polyamide” Nylon
PA6, PA6.6, PA11, PA12, PA6.10, PA6.12, PA10.10, PA10.12

Also known as Nylon, it is a semi-crystalline polymer belonging to the family of polyamides. Like all semicrystalline polymers it has a high chemical resistance (resistance to contact with chemical compounds).
The abbreviation PA is almost always followed by a number (eg. PA6, PA12, PA6.6) that identifies the number of carbon atoms that constitute the main polymer chain and which may confer different characteristics to Polyamide.
The most used polyamides are PA6 and PA6.6
The PA long-chain polymers (PA11, PA12, PA6.10, PA6.12, PA10.10, PA10.12) differ from the classic PA6 and 6.6 primarily for their mechanical properties since they are tougher (high impact resistance without the aid of elastomers), they have a lower specific weight and low moisture absorption (in some formulations the value of absorption is comparable to amorphous polymers).
The formulations of the latest generation of PA6 and PA6.6 achieve very high performance and make them good candidates for metal replacement. The numerous formulations of existing compounds allow the PA to find many applications in different fields
