It is a semi-crystalline polymer belonging to the family of polyolefins which like all semicrystalline polymers, possesses high chemical resistance (resistance to contact with chemical compounds). The “standard” polymerization leads to the polypropylene homopolymer (PP-H) which comes with a translucent shade and turns with various technologies. The addition of ethylene chains in the polymer matrix of the PP leads to the copolymer polypropylene (PP-C) that possesses impact resistance, even at low temperatures, considerably better than PP Homopolymer. There is also the random Polypropylene copolymer (R-PP) in which the impact resistance is better than the H-PP and it is accompanied by a good transparency, which improves the aesthetic (especially at low thicknesses).
